Astronomers and MIT researchers have discovered a way for aliens to find us. A study at MIT was conducted to see if there was a possibility to communicate with outer space beings. The study suggests that using a high-powered signal will send a message saying, ‘We’re here’. The signal will attract attention to Earth from anyone who could see it.

The research implies that a 1 or 2-megawatt laser will be pointed through the mirrors of a telescope and will be projected into space. This could be compared to how a lighthouse works. According to the author of the research at MIT, James Clark, "The kinds of lasers and telescopes that are being built today can produce a detectable signal so that an astronomer could take one look at our star and immediately see something unusual about its spectrum”.

If there were to be a response from any extraterrestrial beings or systems, then we could communicate with the laser light using the Morse code. We can start to communicate, we could flash a message, at a data rate of about a few hundred bits per second, which would get there in just a few years”.

This is certainly a controversial topic; many people have different opinions about it. Some believe that a beacon communicating with extraterrestrial beings is a good idea for human civilisations. Many think that this is a step in the right direction for human civilisations. Do you agree or disagree with the possibility of communicating with aliens?
